BOC Aviation has signed a purchase-and-leaseback agreement with Frontier Airlines for 15 new A320neo aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery in 2025 and 2026.
In August, Frontier deferred A320 family aircraft deliveries from 2025 to 2029 and cut delivery totals of its aircraft. It also cancelled its A321XLR order.
“BOC Aviation has been a highly valued business partner of Frontier Airlines for the past two decades, and we are thrilled to continue that partnership with these latest agreements,” said Robert Fanning, Vice President of Fleet for Frontier Airlines. “These 15 new A320neos will further support the continued growth of our company.”
The low-fare carrier currently operates 148 A320 family aircraft and has the largest A320 fleet in the US.
Steven Townend, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BOC Aviation, added: “This transaction leverages our strong available liquidity and builds on our solid existing pipeline of aircraft scheduled for delivery beyond 2024, as we expand both our revenue base and our fleet of latest-generation aircraft.”
