flydubai has announced several route network updates as it expands its reach and frequency across Europe and Africa.

Firstly, the carrier is bringing flights to Nairobi on a four-times-weekly basis from 15 October, marking flydubai’s first route to the Kenyan capital. Additionally, the airline has been increasing its frequency to Mombasa since 1 October, totalling 11 weekly flights to the East African country.

“Kenya is an important market for flydubai, and we are pleased to strengthen our operations with the addition of Nairobi and the increased frequency of our service to Mombasa,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai. “These flights underline the importance of connecting Kenya to Dubai’s global aviation hub, enhancing access for trade, travel and tourism between our two countries. We remain committed to playing our part in supporting stronger economic and cultural ties between the UAE and Africa.”

flydubai has a strong presence in Africa, with 12 routes to the continent from Dubai, including Alexandria, Addis Ababa, Al Alamein, Asmara, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Entebbe, Hargeisa, Mombasa, and Zanzibar.

Secondly, Chișinău has been added to the route map on a twice-weekly service, making flydubai the only UAE airline to operate direct flights to Moldova. The carrier is also set to offer Romania from September, and Lithuania and Latvia from December as European destinations.

“We are pleased to strengthen our connectivity to Europe with the launch of our twice-weekly service to Chișinău,” commented Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai. “As our newest gateway to Europe, Moldova offers our customers more options to explore previously underserved destinations. This reflects our commitment to facilitating free flows of trade and tourism while providing convenient and diverse travel choices for our passengers from the UAE and across our network.”

In total, the airline has a network of over 135 destinations across 57 countries, operating a fleet of 94 Boeing 737 aircraft.
