Argentine low-fare airline Flybondi has announced a significant fleet expansion and modernisation plan, committing approximately USD 1.7 billion to firm orders for new single aisle aircraft from both Airbus and Boeing.

This dual-vendor strategy marks a pivotal move for the airline, traditionally an overwhelmingly Boeing 737-800 operator, suggesting a push for market growth and operational flexibility across Latin America.

The carrier placed a firm order for 15 Airbus A220-300 jets, with options for an additional five, making it the launch operator of the A220 in Latin America.

The aircraft is likely to be deployed on thinner, high-frequency domestic and regional routes and deliveries are scheduled between 2027 and 2029.

The airline also confirmed an order for 10 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft, with options for five more. This aircraft is expected to replace the existing 737-800 fleet to serve high-density, key domestic, and international routes. Deliveries are expected to start in 2027 and continue until 2030.

“This expansion marks a strategic milestone for the airline, which will seek growth both in Argentina and in new markets across Latin America and the Caribbean,” Flybondi said in a statement.
