UK regional airline, Flybe, has gone into administration and ceased all trading.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) made a statement on its website on 27 January and announced that the airline had gone into administration – making this the second time in three years since March 2020.

The airline operated flights from Belfast, Birmingham City, and London Heathrow to airports across the UK and to Amsterdam and Geneva.

The airline announced in August last year that it would grow its winter schedule to 12 destinations, the latter of which (Birmingham to Geneva) only commenced on 17 December.

The Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) Consumer Director, Paul Smith, said: “It is always sad to see an airline enter administration, and we know that Flybe’s decision to stop trading will be distressing for all of its employees and customers. For the latest advice, Flybe customers should visit the Civil Aviation Authority’s website or our Twitter feed for more information.”
