Etihad Airways has officially launched its A321LR on all flights to and from Kolkata to support growing demand for the destination from both tourists and business travellers. The inaugural flight landed at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport in Kolkata on 24 September.

The airline currently offers 183 flights a week to 11 destinations across India, and flights to Kolkata will offer two enclosed First Suites, 14 lie-flat Business seats, and 144 Economy seats. Each cabin features Wi-Fi and enlarged overhead storage.

“India is an important market for Etihad and we’re incredibly proud to be in Kolkata to welcome our newest aircraft, the A321LR, on its inaugural flight to India,” said Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Etihad Airways. “Whether choosing our luxurious First Suites, lie-flat Business seats with direct aisle access and a window-view, or our next-generation Economy cabin, our guests will enjoy a superior flying experience in Etihad’s signature style.”

Etihad received its first A321LR in July 2025, and will receive another 29 in due course, with the second to arrive in August 2026.
