Embraer’s E190-E2 and E195-E2 have received Type Certification from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), with the delivery of the first E195-E2 to Porter Airlines taking place in the coming days.

This achievement follows certification from ANAC (Brazil), the FAA (USA), and EASA (Europe), which happened in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Porter Airlines has ordered up to 100 E195-E2s, with 50 firm commitments and 50 purchase rights. The orders were split between 2021 and 2022, with an order for 30 E195-E2s being made in 2021 with purchase rights for 50 and a firm order for a further 20 placed in 2022. The list price for these orders was worth US$5.82 billion and US$1.56 billion, respectively.

At the time of ordering the further 20 jets in July 2022, Michael Deluce, President and CEO, made this comment at the Farnborough Airshow: “the aircraft will become core to our fleet, as Porter reshapes passenger expectations for air travel in the same way we did over 15 years ago.”

The E195-E2s ordered from Porter will be the first of the type to fly in North America, with Porter Airlines as the launch customer.
