UK-based low-fare carrier easyJet has revealed plans to launch six new routes from four UK airports in 2025 while significantly increasing its UK fleet.

The expansion plans follow record-breaking profits this summer, which saw the airline bank GBP 610 million before tax in the 12 months to 30 September 2024.

The new routes are:

  • Milan Linate from Manchester and Edinburgh: Starting 30 March 2025.
  • Gibraltar and Bordeaux from Birmingham: Flights to Bordeaux begin on 1 May 2025, and Gibraltar flights start on 1 June 2025.
  • Palermo and Almeria from Bristol: Flights commence in June 2025.

easyJet will establish a five-aircraft base at Milan Linate next spring and a three-aircraft base at Rome Fiumicino from 30 March 2025. These new bases, along with existing bases at Milan Malpensa and Naples, will increase easyJet’s presence in Italy and offer more flight options from the UK to major Italian cities.

The airline is increasing its fleet at its UK bases. Bristol Airport will receive a 19th Airbus A320 family aircraft. Additional aircraft will also be added to the airline’s bases in Manchester, Edinburgh, and Birmingham this summer (2025).  easyJet’s new base at London Southend, which opens at the end of March 2025, will begin operations with three aircraft.

Ali Gayward, easyJet UK Country Manager, said: “Following another consecutive record summer, easyJet is continuing to grow in the UK next year with more aircraft, enabling us to offer an even greater choice of flights and package holidays for our customers across the country.

“Our investment in two new bases in Italy will also benefit our customers in the UK, providing great value and convenient connectivity to major European cities, whether they’re travelling for leisure or business, and we look forward to welcoming them on board.”

easyJet holidays will offer travel packages for the new routes, including flights, hotels, and a 23kg luggage allowance.

easyJet saw record summer profits in 2024.
