easyJet has announced the expansion of its flight training operations across Europe in partnership with CAE.

The airline will begin pilot training at CAE Amsterdam from winter 2025, which is set to house two full-flight simulators, as well as the addition of two full-flight simulators at its existing London Gatwick and Milan training facilities.

“easyJet is a growing airline, and expanding these Europe-wide training facilities in partnership with CAE will play a critical role in supporting this growth across our network,” said David Morgan, easyJet’s Chief Operating Officer. “By continuing to utilise advanced technologies, we are ensuring our thousands of pilots across Europe are trained to the global industry leading standards we are recognised for. That’s why around 100 million customers choose to travel with us each year. We are pleased to continue working with CAE as a trusted global training provider to help ensure easyJet is a centre of excellence for crew training.”

Next spring, easyJet will also open a three-aircraft base at London Southend, as well as new bases planned for Milan Linate and Rome, and the delivery of nine A320s in the near future. The increased training facilities will help to support these expansions.

“We’re delighted to extend and expand our longstanding partnership with easyJet and to support their growth,” commented Michel Azar-Hmouda, CAE Division President, Commercial Aviation. “Through our state-of-the-art facilities and tailored training solutions, we’re shaping the future of aviation training while reaffirming our commitment to innovation, safety, and operational excellence.”

Currently, easyJet has 19 simulators with CAE across three countries, operational for up to 20 hours a day. With the addition of simulators and training centres, they will deliver annual training for over 7,000 easyJet pilots, recurrent training, and command upgrade courses.
