Deutsche Aircraft and Senior plc, a manufacturer of high-tech components and systems, have signed a programme contract for the D328eco.

The contract comprises the design, development and manufacture of the D328eco’s Bleed Air System and the Engine Build Up (EBU) system. The EBU system will serve as the interface between the PW127XT-S engines and the aircraft.

Dave Jackson, CEO of Deutsche Aircraft, commented on this new partnership, stating: “We are looking forward to our collaboration with Senior, a manufacturer of high technology components and a systems provider that will support the EBU for our innovative new turboprop, the D328eco.”

The design phase will be carried out at Senior’s SSP facility in California, whilst the manufacturing process will happen in Congleton, Cheshire in the UK. The D328eco aircraft will be manufactured at Deutsche Aircraft’s new FAL at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany.

So far, 95% of Deutsche Aircraft’s suppliers have been announced. This includes contracts with SASMOS Het of India for the design and development of its electrical wiring interconnection system and TRIUMPH Group for the precooler system. Both of these agreements were made public during the Farnborough International Airshow 2024.

Launie Fleming, CEO of Senior Aerospace, said: “We are delighted to be awarded this contract from Deutsche Aircraft for the advanced, sustainable D328eco platform. This is a tangible example of our purpose in action – helping to engineer the transition to a more sustainable world for the benefit of all our stakeholders.”

The construction of Deutsche Aircraft’s first testbed D328eco is already underway, with test flights scheduled for 2025.
