The facility is expected to host over 1,000 training events a month and features four high-ceiling bays for up to four simulators, four procedure trainers used for qualification training, 10 briefing rooms, seven classrooms, and door training and emergency equipment training spaces.
“This 50,000-square-foot training centre is really about the future,” said John Laughter, EVP and Chief of Operations at Delta. “There’s a great opportunity to improve not only great quality of training, but quality of life, too, and have our pilots have a really great training centre to come to here.”
The facility is the airline’s first significant training investment since the creation of its Atlanta pilot training headquarters in 1968.

The new training centre follows a series of investments by Delta into the Salt Lake City area, such as the 2020 opening of the 900,00 square foot Concourse A, with 50 Delta gates, 19 new restaurants and shops, and plans to add more gates by 2027.
