Following the resignation of Ted Christie in early April, Dave Davis has become President and Chief Executive Officer of Spirit Airlines, alongside several other executive appointments within Spirit Aviation Holdings. Prior to joining Spirit, Davis served as President and Chief Financial Officer of Sun Country Airlines.

“I am thrilled to join Spirit at this critical time in the company’s history,” said Davis. “I look forward to working with the more than 11,000 Spirit Team Members to deliver value for our guests, shareholders and the communities that we serve.”

“We’re excited to welcome Dave as Spirit’s new President and CEO,” said Robert Milton, Chairman of Spirit Airlines. “He brings with him a wealth of experience and a solid track record of accomplishments from his many years in the airline industry. Dave’s background at both Northwest Airlines and, more recently, at Sun Country Airlines, positions him well to lead Spirit’s continued transformation.”

The airline also welcomes Duncan Dee as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Trey Urbahn as Senior Commercial Advisor, John Bendoraitis as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Fred Cromer as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Thomas C. Canfield as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Rana Ghosh as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Linde Grindle as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, and Rocky B. Wiggins as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

Dee previously worked as the Chief Operating Officer at Air Canada and regularly appears on Canadian media networks. Urbahn has many years of industry experience across Etihad, Breeze, Azul, TAP Air Portugal, and JetBlue, where he held commercial leadership roles.

“Spirit is pleased to welcome these new additions to our leadership team as the company continues to advance its transformation,” added Milton. “The Board would also like to express its gratitude to Spirit’s frontline Team Members, whose commitment to our guests, the company and safety has never wavered. The three new members bolster an experienced team that will together develop, convey and execute a powerful new plan that will propel Spirit forward.”
