Aviation finance company Avolon has delivered its 50th aircraft, an A320neo, in JetSMART’s fleet, a South American low-fare carrier. The delivery is the final instalment of four deliveries from the leasing company, which will replace the airline’s current narrowbody fleet.

This follows news from September announcing that JetSMART had entered an agreement with BOC Aviation for two A321neo and one A320neo aircraft, with delivery scheduled in 2027. The airline operates A320 and A321 aircraft and serves over 50 destinations, with hubs in Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Colombia.

“We are excited to share this milestone with JetSMART and celebrate their phenomenal growth story since their launch in 2016,” said Paul Geaney, President and Chief Commercial Officer of Avolon. “The four aircraft we are leasing will support JetSMART’s growth strategy to better connect Latin America, one of the world’s fastest growing aviation markets. With our large orderbook, we are well-placed to support our airline customers growth plans and refleeting needs into the next decade.”

As of September 2025, Avolon had 347 A320neo family aircraft on order with Airbus and owns a total fleet of 1,159 aircraft varying from Airbus and Boeing to Embraer and Bombardier.

“This delivery marks a significant milestone in our journey, and our growth reflects the strength of our long-term vision for the business,” commented Estuardo Ortiz, CEO of JetSMART. “The addition of these new-technology aircraft enhances our operational efficiency and gives us the flexibility to expand our network, delivering low-fare travel to passengers across South America. We look forward to continuing to expand our partnership with Avolon to support our future growth and further strengthen our position as one of South America’s leading low-cost carriers.”
