Aviramp, the manufacturer of aircraft boarding ramps and bridges, has announced £1.2 million worth of orders for nine of its step-free boarding ramps with US-based Frontier Airlines.
These latest orders are a vote of confidence for the manufacturer. Frontier has been using Aviramp’s product “a while”, according to its Chief Executive and company founder Graham Corfield.
He said: “This latest order means we have now supplied Frontier with 14 Aviramps in total, with the latest installations taking place as I speak.”
The last year alone has seen a 30% rise in its order book, and these new orders for nine new ramps boost the investment by Frontier Airlines into this product up to nearly £2 million in the past 18 months.
The ramps can be powered by solar or diesel and are fully wheelchair accessible with low gradient slopes. Its boarding ramps and bridges are used when an aircraft is parked on a remote stand, offering a safe alternative to ambulifts for wheelchair users and PRM passengers.
Aviramp manufactures ramp products for a range of different aircraft, from ATR 42/72 turboprops, and Q400s to regional jets like E195s and midrange narrowbody aircraft like Boeing 737 and A321s.
