Positions Aviation Australia has become the first customer for L3Harris’ Virtual Reality Maintenance Trainer. The company signed an MoU to integrate the trainer into its aircraft technician training programmes.
As a result of this integration, Aviation Australia will be able to deliver more flexible training to students from any location, as long as they have a computer and internet access. Training will not be disrupted – a huge win for the aviation industry massively affected by the pandemic shutdowns.
The VRMT delivers self-paced training simulation outside of a classroom environment. For example, it simulates the experience of maintaining fully-functional flight decks, and allows students to virtually navigate equipment bays, view and remove components and practical troubleshooting in real time.
