Arajet has launched its operations from Punta Cana Airport with a protocol act headed by Puntacana Group executives, state authorities of the Dominica Aeronautical sector, and Arajet executives.

Punta Cana Airport is the airline’s third destination in the Dominican Republic, as well as Bogotá, Cartagena, and Medellín in Colombia; Cancun and Mexico City in Mexico; Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; Toronto and Montreal in Canada; Kingston, Jamaica; Lima, Peru; Sao Paulo, Brazil, Santiago in Chile, and Buenos Aires in Argentina.

Arajet is continuously expanding its route network to connect destinations across the Americas and recently hit a milestone of one million passengers flown in 2024, becoming the first Dominican Airline to reach the goal.

Víctor Pacheco, Arajet CEO and founder, said: “For Arajet, it is a commitment to promote the tourist’s arrival to the country by offering them more opportunities to visit the Dominican Republic at the lowest market prices through our robust destinations network and the more than 200 combinations of connections that we currently offer.”

“Through this second hub in Punta Cana, Arajet is directly impacting our region’s economy. Its operations will contribute significantly to job generation and various associated areas. In addition, the thousands of tourists and business travellers who will arrive through Arajet will not only enjoy our sun and our beaches, but they will also boost the economy of Punta Cana and its surroundings,” said Giovanni Rainieri, Director of Airside Operations at Punta Cana Airport.

He continued: “This kind of investment and growth [in] connectivity not only reinforces the position of Punta Cana as one of the most important tourist destinations in the Caribbean but also opens up new possibilities for local businesses, favouring the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and stimulating tourism in the area. This strategic alliance responds to our mission of remaining to be in the Dominican Republic the airport with the highest air traffic, receiving 68% of tourists who visit our country.”
