The African-based operator has been a customer with TrueNoord since April 2023, when the airline became a lessee with two YoM 2008 Embraer E190AR aircraft. Maarten Grift, Sales Director at TrueNoord, said that the transaction reflected the lessor’s commitment to supporting operators in the face of operational challenges.
“Securing these aircraft is a strategic move to safeguard the reliability of our Embraer fleet,” commented Airlink CEO, de Villiers Engelbrecht. “By acquiring additional engines and components, we can mitigate the impact of global supply chain disruptions and maintain the high standards of service our customers expect. We value our partnership with TrueNoord and appreciate their flexibility in completing this transaction.”
“Further strengthening our existing relationship with this leading African operator, our joint collaborative efforts ensured the sale was finalised in a timely, streamlined and efficient manner,” added Richard Jacobs, TrueNoord CCO. “It was a pleasure working with Airlink’s entire team, and we look forward to partnering again on future opportunities. Additional thanks also go to the aircraft’s previous lessee, Breeze, for their support throughout the process.”
