airBaltic has introduced a digital platform called Skynet on board the carrier’s flights. The free-to-use digital platform is powered by airBaltic’s Starlink internet connectivity.
Offered for use on passengers’ personal devices, Skynet’s digital portal is designed to enhance onboard experience and provides fast, personalised access to flight details, destination information and exclusive onboard offers.
Thomas Alexander Ramdahl, Chief Commercial Officer at airBaltic commented: “Skynet marks an important step in how we are redefining the on-board digital journey. By bringing services, real-time flight information and carefully selected partner offers into one seamless platform powered by Starlink, we are making the travel experience more convenient, entertaining and personalized for our passengers, especially to our airBaltic Club loyalty members.
“We will continue enhancing the platform by introducing more tailored onboard offers, including convenient in-seat ordering and payment options directly from our menu.”
To use the portal, passengers need to connect to the carrier’s Starlink internet to access the free connection, with no downloads or registration necessary. They will then be able to automatically access the Skynet portal by scanning a QR code in the Baltic Outlook in-flight magazine or by using the airBaltic Club app. Once connected, passengers can track their flight in real time, with all key journey details available in one place, including the flight number, duration, departure and arrival times, connecting flights at RIX Riga Airport and live updates.
Skynet is available in Latvian, English, Estonian, and Lithuanian. It features the digital airCafe menu, the airBaltic blog and information on local attractions. Accommodation and car rentals are also offered. The platform also includes a personalised AirMall retail solution powered by InterLnkd.
According to airBaltic, more than half of the carrier’s Airbus A220-300 fleet is now equipped with Starlink internet.
