Long-haul low-fare carrier AirAsia X has extended its existing component support agreement with AFI KLM E&M for its Airbus A330-300 fleet.

The Malaysian airline confirmed it had extended the A330-300 exclusive support contract, originally signed in 2007 when the carrier began operations, with AFI KLM E&M until the A330s are retired from the carrier’s fleet. It currently operates 30 of the aircraft type.

There is also an option to include additional aircraft in the scope of the agreement, as and when required by the airline. The services provided include repair, pool access, and related logistic services.

The partnership was also extended previously to the wider AirAsia Group, with AFI KLM E&M now providing component support services for its fleet of Airbus A320neos.

Benyamin Ismail, AirAsia X CEO, said AFI KLM E&M’s ability “to deliver and sustain a high service level for our fleet is a major operational performance guarantee for us. We are pleased to be extending our contract with this strong partner.”
