Air Astana has launched a new direct route between Atyrau in western Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku.
The inaugural flight took place on May 31 and is set to operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Additionally, direct flights between Almaty, Kazakhstan’s former capital and Frankfurt, Germany commenced on 1 June 2025 with flights operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Flights to Baku will use the airline’s A320 family of aircraft, while flights to Frankfurt will exclusively use the airline’s longer range A321LR aircraft.
The new routes will supplement the airline’s existing flights from Astana and Uralsk to Frankfurt.
Air Astana has signed an updated codeshare agreement with Lufthansa to operate joint flights on the Almaty-Frankfurt route.
