AerFin has enhanced its Part 145 EASA, CAA, and FAA certification for its Engine MRO Lite maintenance capabilities for CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines.

The updated certification now allows changes for the Low-Pressure Turbine (LPT) module, No.4 and No.5 bearings, and expanded coverage of fan, booster, and top case activities. AerFin currently provides engine disassembly and quick-turn maintenance services, with the certification enhancements furthering its range of engine MRO services.

“This capability enhancement represents a significant milestone in the development of our MRO services to support the capacity challenges that many of our major customers are currently facing,” said Simon Bayliss, Chief Operating Officer at AerFin. “This significant development enables us to deliver a more sophisticated range of services to our customers when they need it.”

This announcement follows the MRO’s news in June that it had signed a 10-year lease agreement for a new facility in Newport, Wales, doubling AerFin’s engine MRO capacity to around 200 quick-turn shop visits per year.
