Hong Kong-based low-fare carrier HK Express Airways launched its new route from Hong Kong to Penang last week, marking the company’s re-entry into the Malaysian market.
“Southeast Asia is generally known for its value-for-money proposition, and Penang is no exception,” said HK Express CEO Jeanette Mao.
She added that the recent extension of visa exemptions is likely to result in increased traffic between the two countries. “…we anticipate an influx of mainland Chinese travellers to Penang. Our new route not only offers more choices for travellers but also contributes to enhancing cultural exchange between these two regions,” she said.
